What Makes Reformer Training Different

The reformer uses a spring-resistance carriage system that allows for a range of movements and loads that mat work and even springboard training cannot replicate. Lying, seated, standing, and inverted positions are all possible. The spring tension is adjustable for every movement and every body. That flexibility is why the reformer is the foundation of classical Pilates training and why it remains the preferred tool for rehabilitation and high-level technique work.

In a private setting, the reformer becomes a precision instrument. Your instructor can adjust spring tension, carriage position, and footbar height between movements to match exactly what your body needs in real time. That level of specificity is not available in a group class environment.

What Private Reformer Sessions Address

Rehabilitation. The reformer's adjustability makes it ideal for working around and through injuries. Low back issues, shoulder impingement, hip labral problems, post-surgical recovery, and pelvic floor dysfunction all respond well to carefully designed reformer programming.
