What is Tower Pilates?
Tower Pilates uses a wall-mounted apparatus with springs to create resistance through a range of guided exercises. At Ken Pilates Chelsea, Tower sessions emphasize control, alignment, strength-focused movement and instructor coaching. Spring resistance can be adjusted for different tasks. The equipment is not a reformer, and the class experience is distinct.
What's the difference between Tower and reformer Pilates?
A reformer typically uses a moving carriage with springs. A Tower uses wall-mounted springs and attachment points without a moving carriage beneath you. Both can support resistance-based Pilates exercises, but they feel and move differently. Our Chelsea studio specializes in spring-resistance Tower classes and heated mat work.
Do I need experience to try SpringSculpt?
You do not need to be an expert to start. Ken Pilates welcomes different experience levels, and instructors can offer options for range of motion and resistance. Tell the instructor you're new to Tower equipment before class begins so you can learn setup and movement cues. Check the schedule for the class that's right for you.
