The Ken Pilates Mat Teacher Training has been developed around the published NPCP Pilates Mat education eligibility requirements effective January 1, 2027. Ken Pilates is preparing to apply for listing in the NPCP School Directory. NPCP has not yet reviewed or verified this program, and Verified Program status has not yet been granted. NPCP does not accredit or approve Pilates schools or teacher training programs.
Successfully complete the 110-hour program and all KP graduation requirements to receive a Ken Pilates Mat Teacher Training Certificate of Completion.
NPCP Pilates Mat Certification is a separate professional credential. Graduates apply independently, pay applicable NPCP fees, and must satisfy NPCP's current eligibility requirements.
Candidates found eligible by NPCP who pass the NPCP Pilates Mat examination earn the NPCP-PMC credential.

Open enrollment. No audition, interview, application essay, or previous teaching experience is required. Students must be 18 or older.
We recommend taking at least 10 Mat Pilates classes before training begins. Those classes may be taken at any Pilates studio and are recommended, not a condition of enrollment.
The Founding Cohort is capped at 10 trainees.

Do I need previous Pilates experience? ▾
No. Previous teaching experience is not required. We recommend at least 10 prior Mat Pilates classes, taken anywhere, before training begins.
How long is the training? ▾
110 total hours, including 60 live in-person hours at Ken Pilates Chelsea.
Is the program in person or online? ▾
Hybrid: live Chelsea intensives, a live virtual orientation, licensed self-paced anatomy, and documented independent work.
Will I learn the classical Mat repertoire? ▾
Yes. The curriculum includes all 34 Mat exercises from Joseph Pilates' Return to Life Through Contrology.
Is this an NPCP certification? ▾
No. Ken Pilates awards its own completion certificate. The curriculum has been developed around the published NPCP Pilates Mat education eligibility requirements effective January 1, 2027. What if I miss an intensive? ▾
All required program hours must ultimately be completed. A designated makeup opportunity may be available for up to one missed intensive under the final enrollment policy.
